Here, the Virgin is being crowned by the Trinity with Christ to her right, God the Father to her left, and the dove of the Holy Spirit over her jeweled crown. The evangelists with their symbols flank them with the prophets Isaiah to her far right and Saint John the Baptist to the left. The design owes much to images in printed books brought to New Julfa by its elite merchants (khojas) and various other Christian communities.
