Bojagi (Wrapping cloth)

Korea

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 233

Wedding ceremonies were and are elaborate milestone events requiring many accoutrements. This cloth—with its double happiness symbols, pair of phoenixes, and characters for many sons (多男)—was likely used to wrap a wedding gift.
