Diese Keramikfigur ist ein charakteristisches Beispiel für die frühe chinesische Skulpturkunst. Der Künstler hat es geschafft, einem unbewegten Objekt den Anschein von Bewegung einzuhauchen. Die Lebendigkeit der Tänzerin rührt von dem spannungsgeladenen Bewegungsmoment her, bei dem sie einen Ärmel nach hinten wirft, sich leicht nach vorne neigt und ihre Knie beugt.
