Bowl

Not on view

The parison (bubble of molten glass) was first blown into a mold, which was then taken apart, leaving the design impressed on the bowl. Because the design becomes larger and fainter near the rim, the parison may have been reblown or dip-molded outside the mold. The pattern radiates from a hexagon on the base and consists of two rows of pentagons enclosing palmettes.
