Technical description: Mahogany bentside, rest of case possibly stained poplar, 3 square tapered legs with beveled corners that screw into wood block sockets, unpierced tuning pins, cheek and keyboard end of spine curving in at front in the manner of Matthaus Andreas Stein grand pianos of ca. 1820 at Vienna Kunstistorisches Museum and Handel-Haus, Halle; well and knowledgeably made poplar (?) naturals, blackstained accidentals with rounded fronts; compass F-f2 (37 keys), no pedals, primitive Anglo-German action without escapement, no dampers, hammers covered with white felt over white leather, single-strung F-b, double strung c1-f2; bridge backpinned throughout; formerly with a fallboard lock, now removed; front member of case bottom beneath keyboard is convex.
