There's Life in the Old Dog Yet

After Sir Edwin Henry Landseer British
Engraver Henry Thomas Ryall British

Not on view

A deer stalker crouches on a rock ledge over a mountain gorge next to a dead stag and hound; he cradles a second exhausted dog and calls for help. A rope around his waist indicates that someone above prepares to haul him to safety. Based on a painting shown at the Royal Academy in 1838.
