This print records the appearance of the velocipede, or hobby-horse, a device that anticpated bicycles. Fashionably dressed men are shown propelling their vehicles with feet--since the devices lacked pedals--around a small ring sheltered by a roof. The man in the foregound may represent Lord Petersham.
