Cup with two handles and cover
The taste for such luxuriant pierced silver cups, lined with a gilt sleeve, had its origins in Germany and the Baltic countries, and was short-lived in England. Many of the surviving cups, made by foreigners who worked "under the table," are unmarked. The delicate naturalism of this cup is the work of a highly trained chaser.
