Tall perforated stand

Korea

Not on view

Tall stands with perforated rectangular or triangular patterns are distinctive to Korea and representative of the high-fired gray ceramics found in Gaya and Silla tombs. They were meant to hold a vessel, typically a jar. Their height indicates that these stands were reserved for ancestral and funerary rituals.
