Book of the History of the Jewish War against the Romans

Author Flavius Josephus

The first printing press in Armenia was founded at Holy Etchmiadzin in 1771 to publish only religious books. This book by the Jewish-Roman author Josephus about the Jewish wars for independence was the first non-religious text to be produced at the press. Its publication in Etchmiadzin was political, as Armenian leaders during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries encouraged the Armenian people to liberate themselves from Persian and Ottoman control.
