Designer Elsa Peretti Italian

Not on view

A high-fashion model in the early 1970s, Elsa Peretti began making silver jewelry for the American designer Halston. The sculptural quality of her work suited the clean lines of his aesthetic. In 1974 she joined the firm of Tiffany & Co., where her organic, sensual designs for both jewelry and hollowware became immensely popular. Among her most iconic pieces is the bone cuff bracelet, an example of which is on view here.
