Questa caffettiera, creata a Parigi nel 1757, è uno degli oggetti d’argento dal design più originale e ammirato dell’epoca. La dinamica scanalatura a spirale conferisce un senso di movimento all’oggetto, mentre le foglie e bacche di caffè riccamente decorate sul beccuccio e sul coperchio ne sottolineano la funzione. François-Thomas Germain, figlio del famoso argentiere Thomas Germain, era uno degli artigiani più in voga a Parigi nella seconda metà del Settecento, e la sua grande bottega serviva le corti di Russia, Francia e Portogallo.
