Esta cafeteira, fabricada em Paris em 1757, é um dos desenhos de prata mais originais e admirados na época. O dinâmico desenho estriado em espiral dá uma sensação de movimento ao objeto, enquanto as folhas e frutos de café ricamente decorados no bico e na tampa enfatizam sua função. François-Thomas Germain, filho do famoso ourives Thomas Germain, foi um dos artesãos mais populares em Paris na segunda metade do século XVIII e sua enorme oficina produziu vasos de prata para as cortes da Rússia, França e Portugal.
