狩猟文皿

複雑なササン朝美術特有の技法で作られたこの美しい皿には、時を経て11世紀に執筆されたイランの壮大な叙事詩「シャー・ナーメ王書)」の一部を成す物語が描かれています。物語では、ササン王朝のバーラム 5 世(治世420~438年)が、お気に入りの楽師アザーダに弓術の離れ業を挑まれるというものです。ここではバーラム王が雄のガゼルの角を射落として雌のように見せ、雌の頭に矢を2 本当て雄の角のように見せている場面を描いてます。
