個人的な祈祷書だった『美しき時祷書』は、ベリー公ジャン・デ・フランスがランブール兄弟に作らせた数点の豪華な彩飾写本の最初の作品です。ベリー公の膨大な蔵書から、様式が一貫したほぼ完全な形で現存する唯一の時祷書です。94枚の全面頁と54段の彩飾は、公爵の個人的な関心を反映して、他とは異なる物語が描かれています。この作品では、聖ニコラスが海で旅人を助けた奇跡が描かれています。イタリア風の丸みを帯びた人物と北方独特の詳細な自然描写を輝くような色調で調和させています。
