貝と海草模様の小袖(詳細)
この貴重な着物(小袖)の繊細な刺繍模様は、貝殻や海草が散らばった海岸の景観を題材としています。透かし織りのなかに花模様が織り込まれた布地は、中国から輸入されたもので、日本においてその白い布地を染め抜いて不規則な砂浜を表し、その上に海のモチーフの刺繍を施しました。薄青色の交互の縞に織り込まれた金箔のアクセントが、織り込まれた花模様を強調しています。
