Kimono à décor de coquillages et d'algues

Les délicates broderies de ce rare kimono ( kosode) sont inspirées du paysage de la côte et des plages japonaises, semées de coquillages et d’algues. Le tissu de base, décoré de motifs floraux brodés sur fond de lignes brisées, a été importé de Chine. Une fois au Japon, le tissu blanc a été teint en réserve, technique qui lui a donné cette apparence de dunes irrégulières sur lesquelles les motifs marins ont été brodés. Les accents à la feuille d’or appliqués sur des bandes alternées de couleur bleu pâle soulignent les ornements floraux du tissage.
