이 펜던트와 비즈 장신구는 메소포타미아에서 출토된 고대 금세공품의 가장 중요한 예에 속합니다. 이들 여러 가지 장신구의 폭넓은 양식, 다양한 금 합금 방식, 상이한 수준의 세공기술에 비추어 볼 때 한 개의 목걸이를 구성했던 것이 아니라 따로따로 존재했던 요소를 한데 모아 놓은 것으로 보입니다. 각 펜던트는 악으로부터 보호해주는 신 또는 신의 상징을 나타냅니다. 당시 사람들은 이러한 형상 자체에 펜던트의 상징물이 나타내는 신 또는 여신이 마술적으로 존재한다고 믿었던 것 같습니다.
