ペンダントと ビーズ
これらの装飾品は、古代メソポタミアの金細工のなかでも最も重要な出土品に数えられています。様式や合金の質、そして製作技術のレベルが異なることから、これらはデザインがひとつの首飾りではなく、別々のものとして見ることが妥当と思われます。それぞれ神または神の象徴を表したペンダントは、魔除けの機能を果たしていたとも考えられます。ペンダントのシンボルに表された神々が、不思議な力でその中に宿っていると信じられたのかも知れません。
