Questi monili sono tra gli esempi più importanti dell’arte orafa antica della Mesopotamia. Per la varietà stilistica, le diverse leghe d’oro e la differente maestria adottata, la raccolta si dovrebbe considerare piuttosto una congerie di elementi singoli che una collana omogenea. Ciascun pendente rappresenta una divinità o il simbolo di una divinità che avrebbe potuto proteggere dal male.
