소형이지만 강렬한 인상을 주는 이 메릴린 먼로 프린트는 10매의 대형 스크린 프린트 포트폴리오인 워홀의 메릴린 출판을 발표하는 전단으로 우송되었습니다. 이 프린트에서 워홀은 1953년 영화 나이아가라의 메릴린 광고 사진을 변형시켜 여배우의 얼굴을 형광색으로 인쇄하였습니다. 포트폴리오의 각 작품은 상업용 스크린 인쇄 기법을 통해 여러 다른 색채들이 중첩되며 워홀은 스크린 인쇄 기술을 더욱 변형하여 인쇄판을 어긋나게 배치하고 작품을 대량으로 인쇄하였습니다. 워홀은 상업적 방식을 수용하여 메릴린의 이미지를 접근할 수 없는 섹스 여신의 이미지로부터 적정한 가격으로 누구나 구입할 수 있는 소비 상품으로 변화시켰습니다.
