그리스도에게 마그데부르크 대성당을 헌당하는 황제 오토 1세를 묘사한 장식판
작센(독일)의 마그데부르크 성당은 968년에 헌당되었습니다. 신성 로마 황제 오토 1세(재위 962–73년)는 작품 내 다른 성인들에 비해 작게 묘사되었으며 그리스도의 축복을 받기 위해 성당 모형을 봉헌하고 있습니다. 오토 황제 뒤로 오토 왕조와 마그데부르크시의 수호 성인인 성 마우리티우스가 보입니다. 그리스도의 생애를 묘사한 이 패널을 포함한 17매의 장식판은 이탈리아에서 조각된 것으로 생각하며, 대성당의 설교단, 성가대석의 문 또는 제단 등 성당을 위해 제작된 장식의 일부였습니다. 1008년과 1049년의 화재 이후, 17매였던 일습은 해체되었고 각 장식판은 여러 성유물함과 책 표지 장식으로 사용되었습니다.
