보티첼리의 보석 같은 수태고지는 공간이 깊이 들어간 것 같은 같은 착각을 불러 일으키기 위해 1점 투시도법을 사용한 건축 실내를 배경으로 하고 있습니다. 중앙에는 줄을 지은 네모난 기둥들이 가브리엘 사자가 있는 기념의 공간과 성모의 개인 침실을 분할합니다. 긴 커튼 패널이 뒤로 넘겨져 있어 겸손한 자세를 취한 성모의 모습이 나타납니다. 고객의 신원은 알려지지 않았지만 이 소형 그림은 대형 작품의 일부로서가 아니라 개인적인 예배를 위해 의뢰되었을 것이 거의 분명합니다.
