강휘남순도, 제3권: 제남에서 태산으로
1644년 중국을 정복한 만주인의 후손인강희 황제(재위 1662–1722년)는 1689년 강남 지역의 지배권을 장악하기 위한 순행 원정을 감행하였습니다. 당대 유명한 산수화가 왕휘는 12권의 대형 두루마리에 이 순행을 기록하도록 의뢰를 받았습니다. 이 작품은 그 중 제3권이며 중국의 성산 태산을 등산하는 황제를 묘사하고 있습니다. 왕휘는 태산을 실제 방문한 적이 없을 뿐더러 지도와 목판화에 기초하여 구도를 잡았지만, 특정 장소를 고전 산수화에 등장하는 상상의 장소와 연결하고 전통적인 “청록” 색조를 사용하여 강희 황제의 선정을강조합니다.
