코토
이 특별한 코토(현악기의 일종)는 일본의 장식미술과 음악 예술의 역작입니다. 코토의 강력한 전통은 그 이전에도 존재했지만, 현대 일본 코토 음악의 토대는 17세기에 만들어졌습니다. 이 코토의 놀라운 장식 문양은 9대째 금속 세공 장인 예술가로 유명한 고토가문의 가장 숙련된 기술자였던 테이조의 솜씨이며 테이조는 이같은 중요한 음악적 발전을 기록으로 남겼습니다. 이 작품은 또한 주인의 지위(강력한 카라수마루 부족)와 일본의 상징으로써 코토의 역할을 잘 반영하고 있습니다. 19세기 초반에 제작된 것으로 추정되는 화려한 옻칠 케이스는 금빛 학(카라수마루 가의 상징)과 거위로 장식되었습니다.
