男士外套和背心

这件精美的外套以优雅的实例说明了十八世纪上半叶男士服装的奢华和做工。以马鬃加固的全长外套的下摆和敞开的袖口都是这一时期夸张比例的典型。这种服饰的诸多结构元素在大都会博物馆收藏的绘画中有很好的记载，尤其是尼古拉斯·德·拉吉利埃在1727年给安德烈·弗朗索瓦·阿洛伊斯·德·德伊斯·德·赫库雷所作的肖像画中。红色羊毛细布上的金线刺绣是这一时期最奢华的装饰形态之一。与其相称的背心上的装饰特别丰富，其上有金线织就的涡卷形羽毛花纹和镀金亮片。
