北野天神缘起绘卷
位于京都的北野天满宫供奉着九世纪的学者、政治家菅原道真（845 – 903年）。道真被朝廷中的敌人诽谤后死于流亡中。自那之后，一系列自然灾害和祸事降临，让诽谤他的人一一死于非命。他的灵魂表达了希望在京都西北部为自己设置神社的愿望。今天，菅原道真在神道教中被尊为学问与书法之神。
