북야천신연기
교토에 있는 북야천신궁에서는 9세기의학자이자 정치가였던 수가와라 미치자네 (845–903년)의 제사를 지냅니다. 미치자네는 궁정에서 정적의 비방으로 인해 유배되어 결국 유배지에서 사망했는데, 그 후 자연재해가 연이어 발생하면서 그의 정적들이 갑자기 죽었습니다. 그때 미치자네의 영이 수도 북서부 지역에서 제사를 지내주기를 원했다고 합니다. 오늘날 그를 배움과 서예의 신토신으로 숭배하고 있습니다.
