إنّ مقبض هذا السيف المصبوب بمهارة في البرونز المذهّب المُطرّق هو العمل الوحيد المؤرّخ لصانع السيوف إسرائيل شُواش من دريسدن. والزخارف المخرمة والشخصيات المجازية المرصّعة بالجواهر التي كانت في الأصل مطلية بالمينا تُنافس مثيلاتها من أعمال صياغة الذهب الفاخرة الرائجة في ذلك العصر في البلاط السكسوني. زُوِّد المقبض بنصل من طليطلة، وكانت المدينة شهيرة وقتئذ بنِصال سيوفها التي تُصدَّر إلى كلّ أرجاء أوروبا. وصنع هذا النصل خوان مارتينيز الذي وقّع عمله بلقب: صانع السيوف الملكية.
