مزار كيطانو تانجين في كيوتو مُكرّس للعالم ورجل الدولة سوغاوارا ميشيزان الذي عاش في القرن التاسع الميلادي (903-845م). توفّي ميشيزان في المنفى بعد أن أوقع به أعداؤه في البلاط. وتبعت ذلك مجموعة من الكوارث الطبيعية والأوبئة التي سببت الوفاة المبكّرة لخصومه. ويدّعي أتباعه أنّ روحه عبّرت عن رغبتها في بناء مزار في المنطقة الشمالية الغربية للعاصمة. ويُقدّسه أتباعه اليوم بوصفه إله التعليم والخطوطية.
