بعد فترة وجيزة من علم السيدة العذراء أنها ستكون أم المسيح (س) زارت قريبتها إليزابيت التي كانت حاملاً بدورها بطفل أصبح لاحقًا يوحنّا المعمداني. بقي الطلاء والتذهيب الأصلي كاملاً تقريبًا، ويزدان التمثالان بحَجَرتَين شفّافتَين من البلّور المصقول تُغطّيان بطنيهما وكانتا تسمحان في الأصل برؤية صورتَي طفليهما. تضع السيدة العذراء يدها بلطف على كتف إليزابيت التي ترفع ذراعها نحو صدرها، وهي إشارة إلى قولها: "من أنا كي تزورني أمّ السيد؟" (لوقا 1:43). وتظهر مشاهد من الزيارة شبيهة بهذا المشهد على أعمال معاصرة أخرى من الأقاليم الناطقة بالألمانية.
