Muff

American

Not on view

The muff featured is a nicely preserved example of a high fashion accessory of the early twentieth century. The interest in fur accessories, especially those including animal heads and parts, was very strong through the 1940s and waned thereafter. This muff is a fine example of changing styles and aesthetics over time, for the animal rights movement of the last part of the twentieth century has negated the popularity and value of furs in general, especially furs that include identifiable animal parts.
