Ensemble

1888
Not on view
This ensemble was made by the donor in 1888. At the time of the donation in 1928, Mrs. Shimn was a resident of New York City. The embroidery motifs and piecing appear to be in the Eastern European folk tradition; however the blouse is constructed in the fashionable style of the 1880s.
