Pelerine

probably Swiss

Not on view

Swiss embroidery has long been recognized as representing the pinnacle of refinement. The charming and original motifs depicting three-dimensional oak leaves, acorns and fanciful creatures worked in French knots are beautifully executed. Originally worked on a fine mull, the motifs were remounted on batiste in the mid-20th century for preservation purposes.
