In 1687, a glass engraving studio set up under privilege of Count Christoff Leopold von Schaffgotsch granted to Friedrich Winter, to engrave glass in the manner of crystal. Technique was "Hochschnilt," difficult and rare cameo relief done with aid of water mill specially set up in 1690-91 at Petersdorf in the Hirschberger Tal on the Silesian side of the Riesenbirge mountains.
