Inscription: (Monogram under base of each candlestick and on top of each bobêche, in XIX century script, under an earl's coronet) E N (for Normanton)

Marking: [1] Leopard's head crowned (London assay office mark);
[2] Small black letter f (date letter for 1683-84);
[3] Lion passant (English quality mark for sterling);
[4] W F, double bowknot above, cinquefoil below (maker's mark for William Fowle);
[5] tiny mark, almost unidentifiable.
