Limestone bust of a lyre-player

Cypriot

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 171

Egyptianizing influence is evident in the wig and stiff pose. At the top of the lyre is a head of a griffin. This figure may have formed a pair with the flute player 74.51.2517. Both representations originally would have been full-length.
