Tiffany's love of nature can be seen in many of his leaded-glass windows and lampshades that depict adaptations of flowers. The peony inspired this elaborate shade set on a bronze floor standard. Its brightly colored blossoms, varying slightly in color from pale pink to deep red, burst forth from verdant leafy foliage in numerous shades of green. The size and shape of the individual pieces of glass mimic the actual petals and leaves of the flower itself.
