Saint Lawrence, a deacon who was martyred in Rome in 258, became of one the most revered martyrs of the Roman church.
Inscription: Inscription: ANE/VIV/ASINCR, LAVRENTIO w (--ane, vivas in Cristo (et in) Laurentio--, "live with Christ and Lawrence". --ane is probably the end of a proper name).
