Tram from the Joint Rule of King Het‘um I and Queen Zabel (1229–52)
The Hetumid family gained power in Cilicia through the marriage of Het‘um I with Zabel, the only child of Levon I. Her authority is shown on this rare example of a royal couple on a coin. On the back is a lion with a cross.
