Baluster Vase with Cover
The baluster form of this Dutch vase suggests Chinese porcelains, while its two-dimensional natural decoration is more Japanese in inspiration. The pierced, flamelike lid, however, is without aesthetic precedent. Such stylistic innovations were a hallmark of the Rozenburg factory.
