This compendium containing Agat‘angeghos’s History of the Armenians demonstrates the revival of early narratives in fifteenth- and sixteenth-century Lake Van region manuscripts. Here, Tiridates, the fourth-century pagan king who turned into a wild boar after killing a group of nuns, leads a crowd of future converts listening to Saint Gregory the Illuminator’s sermon. Gregory later heals Tiridates, who converts to Christianity and declares it the official religion of his kingdom.
