Louis XV received this quiver and other luxury weaponry following Mehmed Said Efendi’s 1742 embassy. Most imposing among the Ottoman gifts was a multiroom tent of Persian gold cloth. Although the large tent was put in storage, the gem-encrusted arms were displayed in the Royal Treasury. Many of these precious objects were sold after the Revolution.
