Wu Hufan 吳湖帆 (1894–1968), 2 columns in semi-cursive script on the mounting silk, dated 1949; 1 seal:

An authentic work, Mountain Scenery with Streams and Pavilions, by Wang Xuanxi [Wang Jian].
Painted in the sixth year of the Kangxi period, dingwei [1667], when Xuanxi was seventy years old, an outstanding and carefully rendered copy of Huayuan’s [Fan Kuan, active ca. 990–1030] landscape in the blue-and-green manner.
This inscription was presented in the ninth month of the jichou year (1949) to Mr. Zhongyi on the occasion of his fiftieth birthday.
