Hinten auf diesem Kopf, der Tutanchamun darstellt, ist die Hand des Gottes Amun erhalten, ein Hinweis darauf, dass die komplette Statuengruppe ursprünglich die Gottheit sitzend hinter der kleineren stehenden Figur des Pharaos zeigte. Vor Tutanchamun durchlebte Ägypten unter Echnaton, der einen einzigen Gott förderte, den Lichtgott Aton, eine Zeit großer religiöser Unruhen. Tutanchamun stellte die traditionelle Vielgötterei und die Vorherrschaft des Gottes Amun wieder her.
