The Unicorn at the Stream, from the Unicorn Series
Jean Duvet French
Not on view
Animals from around the world gather and wait patiently for the unicorn to purify a stream. Its gentle bearing and life-saving powers contrast sharply with the ferocity it displays in the companion engraving. This scene, one in a series of six, is portrayed with exceptional refinement in one of the hangings on display in the Unicorn Tapestries Room.
