Landscape with towers and pavilions
Su Renshan Chinese
Not on view
Su Renshan was a child prodigy from Guangdong Province in China’s deep south. This fantastic landscape, painted when the artist was just fifteen years old, reveals the strength of his imagination and the talent of his brush. Su’s humble signature occupies a single column along the upper left edge, while his father, bursting with pride at his son’s accomplishment, takes up much of the empty space at the top of the painting with his inscription.
