Superbox (green/grey)

Ettore Sottsass Italian, born Austria
Manufacturer Poltronova Italian

Not on view

The Superbox is a conceptual project of miniature cabinet maquettes, each treated as a minimalist sculpture intended to harmonize the user with the surrounding space. The project was never produced for public consumption, but rather exists in the series of photographs Sottsass took of the models in 1966. In 1969 Poltronova produced several full-scale prototypes from which Sottsass selected two colorways for his 1970 Stockholm exhibition.
