On loan to The Met The Met accepts temporary loans of art both for short-term exhibitions and for long-term display in its galleries.
Ritual vessel (fu) lid
This lid was cast for the Confucian temple of Zhenjiang. It is well proportioned and features a neat seal-script inscription, the refined craftsmanship relating it to top-quality ritual bronzes from Jurong, a major production center only twenty-six miles southwest of Zhenjiang and its likely source.

延祐元年, 歲在甲寅, 提調學校官鎮江路總管段庭珪， 儒學教諭郭景星謹識
On the jiayin year of the Yenyou reign [1314], Duan Tinggui, supervisor of the Confucian school and Director General of Zhenjiang, and Guo Jingxing, Instructor of the Confucian school, respectfully inscribed this.
