Miniature book objects in the form of charms, boxes, and other practical items were ubiquitous in the 19th and 20th centuries. They were created in many forms, materials and aesthetic styles, and were made and gifted by and to people of all ages and walks of life. Many were kept over generations as personal treasures and family heirlooms.
